The fifth edition of the Stately Homes by-the-Sea Designer Show House in Rumson was scheduled to open to the public April 28 when a devastating fire occurred in the mansion only 5 days before the opening. The Show House which benefits the Visiting Nurses Association of Central New Jersey draws over 13,000 visitors and is one of the VNA’s largest fundraising events.
Over the prior several months, more than 40 interior designers, decorators and landscape designers contributed countless hours to transform Blithewald, one of Rumson’s oldest residences, and its four acre property into a stunning showcase of our area’s most sought after talent.
The Scout Guide’s very own, VALERIE GRANT INTERIORS was part of this talent and their contribution to the the Show House was a guest bedroom suite in a refined seaside palette with spectacular customized furniture and patterned wall panels. Fortunately, photographs were taken of the completed room just days before it was destroyed by fire, and we are pleased to be able to share them here.
