I have been dying to use this as the title for my new blog “Back in ACK!” – I’m sure I’m not the first one to think of this phrase, but I was thrilled to be back in this beautiful paradise for the guest house installation of a project that I featured last year in my blog “Memorial Day Move In for a Nantucket Summer House.” We went back to complete Phase II – the guest house – and it looks amazing! The architecture captures the charm of Nantucket with modern sophistication. I loved working with an amazing team of professionals from the architects at Emeritus Development to Elisa H. Allen Design on the kitchen, bath and interior hardscape design and Thirty Acre Wood construction.
As you can see from the photos below, the design ties in well with the aesthetic of the main house – using coastal colors, natural wood finishes and organic accents. Highlights in this home are definitely the deep blue cabinets in the kitchen and the perfectly relaxed feel of the living spaces.
First up is the guest house, followed by the main house. I hope you enjoy the photos!
GUEST HOUSE
Now that the guest house is fresh in your mind, let me take you over to the main house so you can see how this project ties together from a design and architectural standpoint. The cohesiveness of the two homes is what makes the project feel like a unified property with the guest house as an extension of the main living space. And, you can never have too many photos of gorgeous Nantucket.
MAIN HOUSE
Summer getting into full swing. I hope I have a chance to get back to ACK – ASAP!!!
