January can be a tricky month. The holiday festivities have subsided, the kids are back in school which gives me the space to reflect on the prior year and look ahead to what will come next. It is a period of adjustment and it can feel a bit uncertain. So, I was thrilled when I received an email from Houzz announcing that I had received the “Best of Houzz 2017 – Client Satisfaction” award which is described as follows: “This professional was rated at the highest level for client satisfaction by the Houzz community.”
Well, that set my feet firmly on the ground again. I am honored to have received this award for three consecutive years!
There are many ways the work I do can be recognized and trust me, it feels great to be acknowledged by other professionals, trade groups, magazines, etc. But, I have to say, the most rewarding aspect of what I do is having satisfied clients that enjoyed working with me and for whom I have created a home that they love. When I look at the reviews posted by both clients and colleagues on my Houzz profile, I feel grateful knowing that the work I do is deeply appreciated.

We had to wait quite a while until she was available, but it was worth it. Valerie has great style and we love the finished product! Valerie is the consummate professional, but personally warm and fun. Her style is much more contemporary than what we have at home, but an updated, yet sophisticated look was what we wanted. She has a great sense for coordinating colors and textures that give great warmth and richness to the rooms. We did have a few antique pieces and some artwork we had acquired for this apartment, and she happily incorporated those pieces that worked, and let us down easily on those that wouldn’t.
